‘Tis the season for all things RED! While I’m not usually the one to rock a bold fire engine lip mid-spring, I do LOOOVE a good berry-hued lip in the winter months. Especially around the holidays! I think a red lip is one of the best accessories to a holiday outfit, whether you’re attending your office holiday party, a festive family meal, or the New Years Eve bash of the century. I’ve put together a round-up of some of my all time tried & true favorites.
STILA – Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick // Beso
This is TRUE red and legit stays on ALL day without drying your lips. I think this color makes your teeth look even whiter (hello, instant teeth whitening!) and really stands out. I like to apply this over a regular chapstick or lip balm to give it a little extra moisture.
Diva is a deep dark red, I consider it kinda vamp-y. It’s one of my forever favorites and I’ve loved it season after season. I find it to be very flattering and I always get compliments on it! I use a lip liner with this one and you can find it here.
This berry gloss comes in one of MAC’s gorgeous little holiday sets and the minute I saw it, I had to have it! The set is amazing – all the colors get put to use. But, this one stands out as a holiday favorite. I love that you can layer it for a deeper, bolder look, or just swipe one coat for a sheer layer of dark raspberry goodness. ILIA – Tinted Lip Conditioner // Arabian Knights
I’m embarrassed to even tell you guys how I found this color.. but I was watching the latest 50 Shades movie with hubs and fell head over heels for the lip colors that she kept wearing! So, after the movie, I looked them up and bought ALL of them. The ILIA one is always in my bag and I love that it makes my lips soft & smooth – it’s obviously not drying at all. And since it’s another sheer shade, you can layer it for more effect. Thanks, Ms. Steele!
