Styled

My Favorite Hair Products Ever!

It took me a LONG time to learn how to style my own hair – about 30ish years to be exact! Luckily, after lots and lots of focus and practice, I’ve finally been able to nail down what works for me & my hair type. I’ve been growing my hair out for two years now and really only get it trimmed every few months – and I only wash it once or twice a week (depending on what’s on the schedule that week). I have some layers in my hair, but really nothing fancy when it comes to the cut/style.

Since I’ve never been a “good hair” person, I was really surprised by HOW MANY messages I got on Instagram after taking over the @inspirepregnancy page one day about what hair products I use. I purchased all of these myself, this post isn’t sponsored in ANY way. So, without further ado, here’s my hair routine:

First, I wash & condition my hair once or twice a week, like I mentioned above (right now I’m trying this shampoo & conditioner – I’ll report back!). After letting it air dry for a few minutes while I tend to my skincare, I add in this mousse with my hands and make sure it’s applied evenly throughout. I do feel like this has made a huge difference in volume. I then blow dry my hair with a round brush & paddle brush in big sections (3 big sections to be exact). I use a regular hair dryer – nothing special!

Once my hair is dry, I actually spray it all over with this dry shampoo. It’s a trick I learned from another blogger, but I think it helps my hair hold the curl (they have a trial size too). I’ve honestly tried SO MANY dry shampoos and have never been as impressed as I have with this one. It also smells so good!

I then start sectioning off my hair to curl it. Before I continue, I use these clips & this curling iron. I part my hair as normal and clip up the left side completely because I always start on the right. Once I have just the right side down, I spray my hair with this and then pin the top up and leave a little section on the bottom to start with. I work my way through the whole right side in about 1-1.5 inch pieces and curl away from my head & I leave about 1 inch of my hair out of the clamp to create that “beachy” wave look. I spray with regular hair spray as I go and then move on to the left side when I’m done.

When my whole head is curled, I spray again with this for good measure & run my fingers through with a little of this oil on my hands to make everything look cohesive. As you can see, I’m a huge fan of one particular brand!
